Experience
Apr 2005 – to Present Freelance Graphic Designer Designing magazine ads, brochures, flyers, postcards, business cards, logos, newsletters, and websites for several local clients. Also providing my graphic design services to the Marketing and Communications dept. at Red Rocks Community College.
Apr 2005 – Aug 2006 Graphic Designer in the Graphics/Editing Dept. at Red Rocks Community College. Updated college WebSite, designed flyers, posters, brochures, magazine ads, and newsletters for the academic programs as well as special groups on campus. Designed external marketing pieces distributed to nearly 100,000 local readers.
Aug 2004 – Apr 2005 Clerical Assistance for the Student Employment/Internship Dept. at Red Rocks Community College. Customer Service, word processing, filing, mailing, maintaining student employment database, answering phones.
Jan 2004 – May 2006 Pursued AA Degree and Certificate at Red Rocks Community College.
Sept 2002 – Jan 2004 Receptionist/Administrative Bookkeeper Worked with Quickbooks 2003. A/P, A/R, invoicing, account reconciliation, bank deposits. Payroll, filing, mail and phones.
Sept 2000 – Sept 2002 Office Manager Worked with Quickbooks Pro 2000. A/P, A/R, invoicing, payroll, taxes, account reconciliation. Performed all office duties. Answering phones, scheduling sessions, maintaining filing system, ordering all office supplies. Designed CD labels and CD covers for clients.
Oct 1999 – Sept 2000 Preschool Teacher Created lesson plans and oversaw classroom instruction. Maintained safety policies and procedures. Provided children with cognitive and creative learning skills and communicated regularly with parents.
Volunteering
Feb 2003 – Present Board Member/Newsletter Editor for the non-profit organization, Parents Without Partners, Inc. Create monthly chapter newsletter; design/layout/format, collect all information, edit and mail. Participate in monthly board meetings. Designed Web Site, created logo, business card, brochures, and several flyers. The chapter won a 1st Place award for Web Site and a 2nd Place award for Newsletter. This volunteer position jump-started my interest in pursuing a career in graphic design.
Hobbies
  Motorcycle dirt biking, hunting, hiking, dancing, and designing on my iMAC G5.
